I wish I had never gone to FIOS. 1. First the cost they quoted me was different than what I am being billed, when I called them they said they couldn't do anything about that I would have to talk to the person who sold me the service. And naturally I have no idea who it was bt it was a rep of theirs. 2.The picture quality as compared to my old service STINKS. 3.I get pixilation on sever channels periodically. 3.The need to rent their boxes rather than just purc hasing them sucks. 4.The speed of the internet service really is slow at times. As soon as my 2 year agreement is up I am switching. Their customer service is a joke, it took me 3 months of calling to get a simple correction on my statement.

Hello:

I have had FIOS for about 6 months now. Initially I had FIOS internet ($57.00/month including all fees). Then I added FIOS TV about 1 month ago. While I like the TV reception, I am miffed at my bill. My bill swelled up to $99.00/month. And I only have 1 Motorolla 2500 receiver.

My questions:

1) Why do I have to lease a receiver? I should be able to get some 3rd party receiver, and not have to pay the extra fees.

2) I bought another receiver on Ebay, but it does not work. Now I understand that the serial# is tracked so that is why. Again, it doesn't make sense for me to pay them a monthly fee in addition to the TV service. This should somehow legally be changed.

Thoughts?

I've had FIOS for a couple years now. The triple play deal. Comcast before that. I have the DVR on one TV and the little black box on the other. Here's what I hate. There is no TV guide without a DVR. NO way to know what is on ANY channel without scanning through every single one of them one at a time. Keep that in mind!!! Also, when they hooked up the STB and the DVR they disconnected everything else---all the other VCR's and DVD players--- so can't record anything EXCEPT through the DVR, and so far, nobody has been able to figure out how to reconnect any of those things on either TV. Other than that FIOS is better than comcast UNLESS you have a problem and have to contact Verizon and then god help you because they sure won't.

Here's my 2 cents.I'ts more expensive than cable.I have trio bundles on both.Limited space for recording.I have the extreme package,so most recording are HD.Always ended deleting shows I have not watch to accomodate coming shows. Can't add external hard drive.Set top boxes are connected to coax cable. It's not fiber all the way!!!!.The integrated modem router they use is "G",no N draft. It's useless for me cuz a have 2 story house.Ended connecting to my N router, therefore my computer can't connect so,I can't see what's on my network. With all of the above,I still am happy with the service.Better than satellite & Time Warner.Never had interuptions on my internet, unlike Time Warner.

I'm trying to connect two TV's to one STB (I know both will have to watch the same channel). I have a coax connected to the RF input on my box.

for one TV I then hooked up an HDMI cable and plugged it into the TV and I'm good.

Then I took another coaxial cable, connected it to the RF output on my STB and hooked the other end directly into the other TV. i'm not getting anything on my 2nd tv.
my question, is the fios STB capable of outputting two signals at the same time. meaning I'm using the HDMI output for one TV and the RF coaxial output for the 2nd tv.

is there another way to do this that I'm missing?

PIP dilema. I have Fios with a QIP 7216 DVR and a Samsung LN52A750R1FXZA LDC tv purchased in 2009. Is this the worst possible combination for getting PIP ? Any wiring miracles available ? When we switched from Dish in early 2009 to Fios for service bundling reasons,I asked a Fios rep if they had PIP, they said yes - Don't believe them.

Jacob static IP is avail, call the sales department for info, Casey just call in, tech support can push a activation without the activation code, there is a serial number on the bottom of the the set top box that starts with a M thats all you need. Mike go into the set top box menu then settings then video and change SD override to 480p then you can be the guy saying HD what, all my channels look better than yours. If you are having another issue write back I just found this site and have a very extensive knowledge of FIOS.

I am on my second go round with FIOS. I moved to an area where it was not available and now I am back.

I still have my HDDVR 6416 and I found on the Verizon website where to go to activate your own box if you chose to buy your own, so that alone tells me that it is not a requirement to use their rental box. The problem though is that each of these boxes has an activation code that is on the paperwork that comes with the box when it is new. Well, I am not going to be finding that paper. That was four years ago. Does anyone know how to find out what the activation cod is for a box. Surely, Motorola or verizon has these codes listed somewhere by S/N. What do they do if if they have to relocate a system and the owner did not keep that piece of paper?

Verizon has innformation on their site that states that cablecards are supported.

ALSO, is Verizon offering a static IP option or just plain and simple DHCP/PPPoE
